June is just around the corner and I can’t wait for Netflix to drop new exciting movies and TV shows. Netflix continues to be the go-to streaming platform for entertainment enthusiasts around the world. From supernatural thrillers to action-packed blockbusters to gripping dramas, binge-worthy series, anime, and documentaries, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Most subscribers anticipate their much-awaited line-up — including me; so I have marked my dates for movies and tv shows I am most excited to watch. There are a lot of movies & tv shows lined up to be released in June, but here are a few that I plan to watch first.

Ordinary Men: The “Forgotten Holocaust”
I’m a big fan and lover of documentaries and on this list, I probably have three (3) of them that I love to watch — Ordinary Men: The “Forgotten Holocaust” being one of them. This German historical documentary is coming to Netflix on June 6th. Written by Manfred Oldenburg, Ordinary Men: The “Forgotten Holocaust” examines how and why tens of thousands of ordinary Germans carried out mass atrocities as members of Nazi police squads during the Holocaust — that saw six million Jews murdered. They shot at men, women, and children — day after day, obediently and assiduously, as if it were normal work.

Who were these men, and how could they commit such murders?

In the documentary, a few survivors tell how they were able to escape the mass extinction and how they live on today with the horrific experience.

Based on written traditions, original documents, film footage, and photos as well as expert statements, the documentary traces the path of one of these murder battalions.

The documentary has a maturity rating of 18+ because of the violence, nudity, and disturbing images.

ARNOLD
ARNOLD which premieres on June 7 is a three-part limited docuseries about the life and career of Arnold Schwarzenegger. The intimate docuseries follows Schwarzenegger’s multifaceted life and career, from bodybuilding champion to Hollywood icon to politician. It perfectly encapsulates the essence of the athlete, actor, and politician in the five decades he’s been a household name.

As the orator of his own story, Schwarzenegger will provide the audience with context and insight into three key chapters of his life: Arnold as an athlete, Arnold as an actor, and Arnold as an American & politician.

The biographical documentary is directed by Lesley Chilcott a documentary film director and producer renowned for her notable feature documentary films including Watson, Waiting for “Superman”, CodeGirl, It Might Get Loud, and An Inconvenient Truth.

TexMex Motors
I love cars. I believe it is natural for Men to love cars, yes, we do and that’s why I’m pumped for this reality TV show, TexMex Motors. I think it is going to be something like ‘Pimp My Ride’ — remember this show in the early 2000s where Xzibit and his entourage meet young car owners and take their worn-out vehicles and transform them into fine-tuned powerhouses loaded with unique gadgets — yes, TexMex Motors is going to be something similar to that.

Unlike Pimp My Ride, in TexMex Motors these pros are going all the way to Mexico to look for classic junk cars and bring them to El Paso for radical restorations — turning these junkers into jewels.

“In the US, the days of finding a well-priced classic car they’re almost non-existent. But Mexico remains a virtual gold mine of forgotten and undervalued classics,” one of the pros narrates in the trailer video. “But hunting down these cars and getting them over the border is only half the battle. They still have to be turned into one-of-a-kind masterpieces in order to attract buyers that are going to pay top dollar.”

This is going to be the first season and will premiere on June 9.

The Playing Card Killer
I mentioned before that I’m so in love with documentaries, well The Playing Card Killer is another one that I look forward to watching. Just watching the trailer gave me goosebumps and some dark vibes cause this guy is a serious psycho. The true crime documentary premieres on June 9.

Directed by Amanda Sans Pantling, The Playing Card Killer is about a notorious serial killer who terrorized Spain in 2003. The serial killer goes around killing people and leaves playing cards at the murder scene which many believed was to evade the police.

It was a very important case in Spain that took over 150 law enforcement officers in the civil guard to look for the notorious serial killer who would kill during the day or night and strikes anywhere at any time.

The documentary will also include survivors that will tell their stories.

This World Can’t Tear Me Down
Well, I’m a big fan of animations and I’m patiently waiting for June 9 to watch This World Can’t Tear Me Down, a bittersweet, offbeat, and irreverent adult animation.

The show is about an old friend (I believe Zerocalcare’s) who returns to the neighborhood, and Zerocalcare wants to help him find his place back in the world. But they are trying to figure out the right thing to do. The friend is depressed and at one point in the trailer shows him having thoughts of committing suicide.

This show could be emotionally hurting.

BloodHounds
It began as a joke, but now am obsessed with watching Korean dramas and movies — and yes, I prefer reading subtitles to watching one that is dubbed just like I find it weird watching an anime that is dubbed.

Based on a webtoon, Bloodhounds is about two young boxers Woo Do-hwan (known for his roles in Joseon Attorney, The King: Eternal Monarch, Mad Dog, My Country: The New Age, Tempte and Lee Sang-yi (known for his roles in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Youth of May, Prison Playbook) who band together with a benevolent moneylender to take down a ruthless loan shark who preys on the financially desperate.

BloodHounds premieres on June 9

Extraction 2
In Extraction 1, Tyler Rake (played by Chris Hemsworth) was shot in the neck after he managed to recuse Ovi Mahajan — the son of incarcerated Indian drug lord Ovi Mahajan. Sr — this was sad for most of us but at the same time felt like it was needed since Rake was depressed most of the time having lost his family, dying somehow would bring peace for him. Well, that is not the case. After being presumed dead 9 months ago, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.

Super pumped to see another Extraction masterpiece from Sam Hargrave. Extraction premieres on June 16.

King of Clones
This is a sensational documentary film featuring unprecedented access to a notorious South Korean scientist Hwang Woo-suk. Set to premiere on June 23, the documentary will tell the story of Hwang, from when he and his colleague, Moon Shin-yong, an obstetrician with expertise in in-vitro fertilization shocked the world by claiming the successful cloning of human embryos, with the potential to cure some diseases, to his sensational & scandalous downfall.

Upon announcing the cloning of human embryos, it fueled a heated debate on bioethics, despite Hwang and Moon emphasizing that their work focused solely on therapeutic purposes and strongly opposing reproductive cloning.

However, the tide turned against Hwang — he admitted to an ethical breach that shook the scientific community, stepped down from his position as director of the World Stem Cell Hub, and his position at the Seoul National University was terminated.

King of Clones is directed by Aditya Thayi via his Peddling Pictures, which he founded with former Endemol Shine head of line production Kavitha de Silva Wijeyeratne in 2017.

Out of curiosity, I will watch; One Piece (anime), Squid Game The Challenge (reality tv, competition), Gamera (sci-fi, anime), The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone (crime), and Veneciafrenia.

Other than that, here is a full list of movies and tv shows coming to Netflix next month.
